**Managing Principal**

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Managing Principal to join Marsh in Brisbane. Working within our Risk Management Practice, you will be responsible for the growth, profitability and client satisfaction of a book of business containing large and complex mining accounts ranging from exploratory start-ups through to diversified majors. This includes managing and developing client relationships, acting as the client's trusted advisor, pursuing new business development, and expanding and diversifying the mix of Marsh products and services the client holds.

**We will count on you to**:

- Maintain and grow personal relationships and a book of business, and contribute to team growth targets
- Conduct and analyse research to maintain a comprehensive understanding of personal accounts and coinciding business needs, as well as core team accounts to maintain a comfortable handle on the portfolio at large
- Utilise risk expertise and knowledge of industry and insurance market place to review clients’ exposures and loss experience and develop solutions that are matched to client needs
- Execute renewal/placement strategies in conjunction with the Placement, Advisory and direct reports in accordance with client instructions
- Lead a team of servicing brokers specialising in mining clients
- Assist in pursuing and presenting to prospective clients and develop innovative solutions to gain new clients and projects
- Identify expansion opportunities for personal and team accounts, leveraging an advanced understanding of internal service and product offerings, market trends and developments and the business standing of specific accounts
- Attend and participate in industry events, conferences and client functions to build up a strong professional network, maintaining proximity to the market and representing the Company and its product offerings and solutions.

**We would like you to have**:

- 7+ years’ experience within a corporate insurance environment, with strong experience in developing insurance and risk transfer solutions for the mining industry
- Insurance broker’s license
- Experience leading a team of servicing brokers
- Strong business acumen including a well-rounded knowledge of general business function and finance matters
- Good problem-solving skills
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization including the ‘C’ Suite
- Ability to prioritise work, multi-task and consistently meet deadlines

**What makes you stand out?**
- 10+ plus years’ experience within Insurance broking
- A sound understanding of business and organisational risk management
- Prior experience managing a portfolio of complex accounts
- Thorough understanding of all aspects of insurance and strategic client engagement
- Exceptional communication, influencing, and negotiation skills
- Tier 1 FSRA Compliance is essential and a tertiary qualification will be highly regarded but not essential
