Established plastics packaging manufacturing operation that supplies the food, beverage and personal care industries. Primarily injection moulding processes.

Main manufacturing facility is based in Condell Park, NSW. It is a 24/7, 3 shift manufacturing operation with 60 headcount. Really positive culture of the floor staff.

**About the Role**

Due to an internal move, this company is now looking for a new Production Manager. This is a true people leadership role where you will be the main person leading the Production Shift Supervisors on Day, Afternoon and Night. There will be expectations for you to lead from the front, and be hands on as required.
- Manage the production team to deliver the agreed manufacturing schedule on time, on cost and to the appropriate quality standard.
- Work directly with the Quality Manager to ensure appropriate QA oversight is in place and quality standards are maintained by production staff.
- Work with the Planning team to ensure schedules are met and review the plan daily.
- Champion Continuous Improvement projects to deliver improved productivity and quality, and reduced cost of goods.
- Develop and manange the annual plant recovery and expense budgets.
- Manage effective PM schedules for plant and equipment to maximise machine avaialbilty and realiability and prolong the useful life of the assets.
- Participate in all development projects impacting on manufacturing including design tooling requirements, equipment and tooling validation and commissioning.
- Select staff and optimise work performance of individuals and the team.
- Manage and review employee skills level system and coordinate training activities to ensure production areas are manned by skilled and accountable personnel
- Conduct regular staff performance reviews to align priorities, provide feedback on performance and promote professional development.
- Champion and lead WH&S for the production environment.
- Member of the Operations Leadership Team.

**Skills and Experience**
- Tertiary qualifications in a technical field would be highly regarding, or relevant industry experience within a FMCG manufacturing environment.
- Must have minimum 5 years' working experience in FMCG manufacturing. Plastics packaging would be a bonus, but not the main criterion.
- Previous experience at a Production Supervisor, Shift Supervisor, Production Manager, Manufacturing Manager or similar level managing a team of more than 10.
- Continuous improvement mindset.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and technical ability to learn a fast-paced injection moulding plastics manufacturing process.
