Founded in 2017, Scimita has a strong track record of delivering scale-up and innovation projects in the energy, materials, and circular economy sectors.
We are currently seeking a **Facility Manager / Workshop Manager** to join our dynamic team and make critical contributions to our scale-up and innovation projects. This pivotal role ensure our project teams have the right equipment, spaces, and prototypes in-hand to successfully achieve their project outcomes.
**Key duties and responsibilities**:
- Run our rapid prototyping workshop.
- Define the technical, safety, and client-related requirements for the equipment, consumables, spaces, prototypes, and products that are crucial to the development, testing, and scale-up activities completed in our deep tech projects.
- Maintain and troubleshoot our equipment, consumables, spaces, prototypes, and products.
- Form and maintain meaningful and mutually beneficial relationships with relevant third parties to bring our creations to life.
- Generate high-quality technical documentation such as specifications, design files, and testing reports for external clients and for the purposes of registering developed Intellectual Property.
- Conduct reviews of work submitted by project stakeholders, assessing technical accuracy and the adequacy of the solutions proposed.
- Contribute to our ongoing Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) activities.
- Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement in our prototyping and product development services.
- 2+ years of proven experience in building physical solutions, involvement in machinery/equipment maintenance, and some product prototyping.
- Exceedingly organised in regards to facility and equipment management.
- Familiarity with laboratory, R&D, and WHS standards and regulations, as well as those relating to specific-products and quality control.
- Comfortable with work independently, with mínimal supervision, and as part of a team.
- Open minded and able to adapt quickly to new information and stakeholder requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organised with a keen eye for detail.
- Some background in equipment design for R&D-scale pilot processing plants would be a bonus, although not essential.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications (such as mechanical engineering) would be a bonus, but not essential.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $80,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
