We are going through an exciting period of growth, and have an opportunity for a Dam Safety Manager to join the team and contribute to the overall success of the organisation and the state.

Reporting to the Department Manager Asset Lifecycle Management, the Manager Dam Safety will play a lead role in optimising dam safety and maintenance activities for TasWater Your specialist engineering expertise will enable you to plan for and lead the future strategy relating to small and large dams management across the state. With more than 350 dams in operation, there are an array of interesting and exciting challenges relating to current and future dam safety and viability. You will lead the strategic and technical direction for new dam and improvement projects, as well as leading the planning, design, supervision and delivery of the minor dam improvement program. Using your strategic skillset, you will create an integrated program of works, focused on identifying and mitigating risks and ensuring all compliance and regulatory standards are met. You will engage collaboratively across the organisation to ensure planning and delivery teams are working in sync to deliver for the customers. You will manage a high-performing team of technical experts, bringing them along on the journey as you focus on the future. You will take a long-term view of what success looks like for the department, the organisation and the industry in Tasmania, including developing industry partnerships and long-term asset strategies.
