**About the role**
McConnell Dowell Constructors (Aust.) Pty Ltd are currently recruiting for experienced Health and Safety Advisors and Managers to join our team located in Hobart, Tasmania.

**Some of the responsibilities of our Health and Safety professionals include**:

- Report, investigate and implement corrective and/or preventive actions resulting from identification of hazards, near miss incidents and work-related illness/injury.
- Collate, analyse and interpret health and safety data across the project and report to Project Manager.
- Promote and encourage the culture of working safely and setting a positive example for all other personnel.
- Review site risk registers, with identified controls for each construction execution plan and support Construction Risk Assessment Workshops (CRAWs) as necessary.
- Continuously review on-site work practices, materials conditions, plant and equipment and identify health and safety hazards.
- Liaise with and advise construction personnel in regard to mitigation and management of risks and hazards.
- Provide advice and assistance to the Project Manager for the development, implementation review and revision of Work Health & Safety Management Plan.
- Work to achieve the project health and safety targets and building a strong health and safety culture.
- Plan and carry out H&S audits of subcontractors when required.
- Investigate and report on all work-related injuries / illnesses and near misses.

**About your capability, behaviours and experience**:

- Complete McConnell Dowell’s Health & Safety Systems Onboarding Program.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, preferably with stand-up training experience.
- Experience in investigating and reporting safety incidents.
- Working knowledge of risk assessment and audit procedures.
