Our client, a large complex Queensland government department, are currently seeking a Solution Delivery Manager for an initial 12 month contract.

The role requires extensive Project Management skills and experience (10+ years) with successful track record of managing and delivering complex initiatives. Ability to lead, motivate & coach project and technical teams to successfully design, deliver and manage effective solutions. Essential excellent customer facing & communications skills and established team player with well-developed influence and relationship management skills and strong ability to manage complexity.

**Key Duties and Accountabilities**:

- Lead, direct and monitor the activities of project and technical team resources, vendors, and partners, throughout the project to completion.
- Provides direction, coaching and mentoring to a team of Project Managers and team members, establishing best practices, PM methodologies, quality assurance and control, tools, and templates.
- Creates and implements complex project definitions, schedules, budgets, and objectives for a large sized or multiple projects of high complexity.
- Communicate project objectives to all team members involved
- Troubleshoot problems that come up during projects
- Works with Project Managers to estimate feasibility, time and effort of projects and tasks.
- Supports projects through appropriate resource assignments.
- Participates in budget preparation and tracking.
- Provides status reports to Management as appropriate, highlighting risks and issues.
- In conjunction with Product Owner, represent the customer experience in the development of requirements for Minimum Viable Product (MVP) and solution dynamics and bespoke solutions built by vendor.
- Identify opportunities across the water business to leverage innovations in digital tools and changes in ways of working to realise the strategic vision
- Identify emerging issues and provide high level, expert, and authoritative advice to senior management on complex project issues, to ensure the achievement of the projects & Program objectives.
- Lead the delivery of project initiatives by leading Project Managers in establishing and maintaining Project Plans and schedules, providing the monthly project highlight report, managing project risks, Issues and Stakeholder.
- Work collaboratively with the Project Managers and Program Team to develop and deliver initiatives to meet project key deliverables.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers including IT as needed
- Prepare and/or oversee the preparation of complex project reports, submissions, presentations, and correspondence for consideration by senior management and executive management.
- Exercise judgement, authority, and high-level influence to effectively coordinate the management of project requirements and competing team priorities.
- Build and manage positive working relationships and partnerships with colleagues and with other levels of government, industry, and non-government organisations to achieve outcomes and deliver on Government commitments.
- Contribute to departmental resource prioritisation processes to deliver on outcomes.
- Contribute to a culture of service delivery and high performance amongst Water Information Systems Team staff, which recognises the unique contribution of the individual, encourages personal and team development, and encourages an appropriate work/life balance.
- Lead the Business Analyst Community of Practice, to ensure consistent use of tools, processes, and quality, fit for purpose Business Requirements
