**About the Role**
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the Procurement Manager’s accountabilities and functions include the management of Southern Ports procurement function and team across all Southern Ports sites and managing the implementation of procurement systems and processes being developed and deployed within Southern Ports.

The Procurement Manager is the business process owner for all Southern Ports procurement systems and is responsible for managing the Southern Ports procurement team and function to ensure the timely, cost effective, and ethical procurement of goods and services across all its sites.

**Key Duties**
- Provide leadership, direction and effective management of the procurement team and cross-functional working groups to achieve a high-level of performance in procurement and transform Southern Ports from transactional to strategic sourcing
- Provide leadership in balancing delivery of procurement performance with procurement governance for the organisation
- Performing and supervising the performance of all procurement activities including pre-qualification, negotiating supplier agreements, preparation of contracts and tender management
- Developing and implementing procurement-related policies and procedures, including continuous business improvement, ensuring a consistent and standardised approach and efficiencies in procurement activities
- Identify and manage commercial, contractual, operational, financial, reputational, ethical and supply chain risks to minimise negative impacts on organisational objectives whilst encouraging opportunity and innovation
- Provide advice to the senior management on procurement, sourcing and contracts governance

**Expertise**
- Relevant Bachelor’s degree in Business/Commerce/Law or other relevant discipline.
- Eligibility for membership of an appropriate professional body (eg: CIPS) is desirable.
- At least five years’ practical experience in a senior procurement management role.
- Practical experience in the implementation of a procurement system as part of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, preferably with experience in Microsoft D365 and Felix vendor management software.
- Substantial practical hands on experience in negotiating, documenting, managing, and closing out high value commercial agreements.
- Practical hands on experience designing, implementing, maintaining, and monitoring procurement systems, procedures, and processes.
- Strong track record of successful stakeholder relationship development and management.
- Sound experience in analysis and due diligence of commercial proposals.
- Solid experience in cross regional supply chains.
- Experience in analysing commodity market trends.
- Experience within the shipping, transport, and port operations sectors is desirable.
- Sound understanding of business and financial drivers, performance measures and financial modelling.
- Current minimum C Class drivers’ license

**Requirements**:
To be eligible for this permanent full time role, applicants must reside in or be willing to relocate to Albany, Bunbury, Esperance or Perth and provide proof of Australian citizenship or permanent residency. The successful applicant must be able to obtain and maintain a Maritime Security Identification Card and undergo a pre-employment medical assessment including drug and alcohol testing.
