The CDPP is looking for a committed Freedom of Information (FOI) professional to join the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (Cth) (CDPP) within Legal Capability and Performance (LCP) Practice Group.
The FOI Coordinator is responsible for identifying and implementing business improvement opportunities, ensuring the CDPP’s FOI procedures and practices remain in compliance with the Commonwealth’s FOI Act.
Key responsibilities of the role include internal and external reporting, including responsibility for the CDPP’s compliance with statutory reporting requirements to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

**About the role**
This is an exciting, opportunity to build and enhance the CDPP’s FOI practice, providing unique leadership and development experience for the successful applicant.
Reporting to the manager of the Stakeholder and Government Engagement team, the FOI Coordinator will provide expert advice and manage and process all FOI requests on behalf of the CDPP. This will require building and maintaining strong working relationships with the other legal practice groups and business areas within the CDPP, as well as externally across the APS. The FOI Coordinator is responsible for the CDPP’s engagement with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC), including on reviews of decisions, submissions of quarterly and annual statistics and survey responses.
We are looking for an experienced FOI practitioner with in-depth working knowledge of FOI legislation, policies and procedures. We require someone who can step into the role of FOI decision maker while undertaking a practical review of the CDPP’s FOI procedures and practices to ensure ongoing compliance with the Freedom of Information Act 1982 (Cth) (FOI Act).
The FOI Coordinator will also be responsible for reviewing and updating the CDPP’s Information Publication Scheme (IPS) and will provide support to the CDPP’s privacy officer.
