**About the business unit**
This role is within the Committees business unit which is one of three business units in the Department of the Legislative Assembly.
The unit’s primary role is to ensure that Legislative Assembly-administered committees have optimal capacity and support to enable them to meet their accountabilities of fiscal, legislative and policy scrutiny; and to provide oversight of statutory agencies. The unit is also passionate about the public’s involvement in parliamentary activities and works to enhance public participation and engagement with the work of the Assembly.
**About the position**
As a Committee Manager, you will work with Members of Parliament from the Legislative Assembly and the Legislative Council on committee inquiries. Your primary role is to manage committee inquiry or oversight processes in accordance with parliamentary law, practice, and procedure. This includes calling for submissions, organising meetings and hearings and writing reports. You will ensure that these processes encourage public participation and that reports and other material prepared for committees are thorough and accurate.
