**The opportunity**

Our client is a community focused federal government agency. They have an exciting opportunity available for an APS5 level Practice Management Officer to join their Legal Services Branch.

12-month initial Labour Hire contract with the opportunity to extend. APS 6 level role offering $53.63 hourly + Superannuation. To be based out of their Geelong office.

This is a hybrid position offering 2 days working from home, with the remaining 3 on site. 37.5-hour work weeks, with 7.5-hour work days.

**Your responsibilities will include**:

- Reviewing and processing invoices to ensure they are charged in line with appropriate contracts and ensuring compliance with Agency policies and procedures.
- Assisting with monthly expenditure reports, accruals and budgets as required.
- Managing legal disbursements including witness reports, barrister fees and working with other legal and non-legal vendors as required.
- Providing a key contact for external firms and clients for accounts related queries.
- Undertaking procedural and administrative support including mailbox management, allocating work, record keeping and data management as required.
- Assisting in preparing reports and analysing data for the branch (financial and non-financial).
- Assisting in preparing procurement documents to support the creation of work orders and contract variations.

- ** Australian citizenship is a requirement to be eligible for this position**:

- Exposure in finance
- Invoicing
- Strong skills in MS Office
- Ability to understand policies, procedures, and legislation
