To be considered for this opportunity you will have proven HR generalist experience managing, developing and organising an HR department with a strategic focus. You will be confident, outcomes focused, with a positive disposition to work in a role providing a mix of proactive, advisory and operational support.

**Responsibilities**

Reporting to the CEO, you will have overall accountability for leading the established Human Resources team managing the entire employee life cycle.

You will also:

- Shape and drive organisational culture;
- Lead the design and implementation of Canterbury’s HR strategy;
- Take accountability for the effective delivery of HR activity;
- Build effective talent pipelines through supporting leaders to identify talent, developing talent and succession plans;
- Develop engagement initiatives; and
- Manage the introduction and implementation of HR systems and processes.

**What we're looking for**
- At least 10 years+ experience in Human Resources with exposure to various HR areas
- A demonstrated knowledge and experience in dealing with complex employee and industrial relations matters
- A consultative approach to coaching and empowering other HR colleagues and managers in HR related topics
- Experience in designing and implementation large scale cultural programs and initiatives that drive employee engagement and retention
- A self motivated, influential leader with a demonstrated knowledge of modern HR practices
- A strategic and creative thinker with strong commercial acumen
- Minimum requirement of tertiary qualifications in human resources.
- Experience working in a multi-site hospitality or similar environment with a 24 hour workforce is not essential but highly desirable.
