**The Role**
The APS 4 Research Ethics Officer is a member of a team that are responsible for provision of secretariat support to the Departments of Defence and Veterans’ Affairs Human Research Ethics Committee (DDVA HREC).
This role is the initial point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, is responsible for administrative tasks associated with the review and ongoing monitoring of research proposals and provision of administrative support to committee members.
**About our Team**
The Directorate Strategic Clinical Assurance and Ethics are responsible for the provision of secretariat support to the Departments of Defence and Veterans’ Affairs Human Research Ethics Committee (DDVA HREC). The DDVA HREC conducts ethical review of research proposals in accordance with national guidelines, institutional policies and legislative instruments.
Through the conduct of research, the Committee contributes to the joint capabilities of both the Department of Defence and the Department of Veterans' Affairs. This role assists with facilitation and coordination of relevant administrative tasks.
