**Risk Manager (12-month secondment)**

**About the Role**

Are you passionate about ensuring adherence to standards? We're seeking a dedicated individual to monitor and uphold Product Governance, Risk, and Compliance requirements. In this role, you'll provide invaluable guidance to Heads of Product on risk management, regulatory compliance, and product governance, ensuring consistency and control assurance. Your responsibilities will include providing insightful feedback and analytics reporting to support the Product Department.

This hybrid position can be based in Sydney, Brisbane, or at our HQ on the Sunshine Coast, offering flexibility to work from home on Mondays and Fridays.

**Key priorities**:

- Ensure regulatory compliance with industry standards such as ASIC, APRA, and General Insurance Code of Practice for General Insurance products.
- Maintain and update the Product Governance Framework to align with policies, regulations, and change management, providing guidance to Product Owners and reviewing risk and compliance requirements regularly.
- Oversee work plans for executive officers, resolve issues, update Business Continuity Plans, ensure process compliance, review policies, and drive Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Lead risk incident management, guide effective risk practices, ensure robust oversight and governance, evaluate control effectiveness, monitor emerging risks, and utilize ReadiNow ERMS for comprehensive risk management.
- Provide comprehensive reporting on Product and Actuarial Risk and Compliance, conduct quarterly monitoring of Target Market Determination Triggers, support report submission to committees and the Board, and analyse metrics and data for strategic insights.

**About You**

**Ideally, you should have**:

- A relevant qualification in fields such as business, Commerce, Finance, Risk, Compliance, Law, or related disciplines.
- Exceptional written and oral communication abilities.
- Strong interpersonal skills.

Experience in the General Insurance or financial services industry.
- Knowledge of applicable legislative and regulatory policies and guidance.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with and report to governance boards (e.g., steering committees).
- Proficiency in designing and implementing risk, compliance, and control frameworks, including business process re-engineering.
- Expertise in governance structures and quality standards.
- Experience in writing high-quality documentation and reports.
- Comprehensive understanding of internal controls requirements and implications, preferably within the insurance sector.
