**The Opportunity**

The Risk Manager is responsible for the development, implementation and continuous improvement of G8 Educations Enterprise Risk Management Framework, Compliance Framework and Crisis Management Framework. In consultation with key stakeholders, the Risk Manager will support the Chief Risk Officer in leading how G8 Education prepares for, manages/controls/treats, responds to and recovers from risk and crises to minimise risk to G8 Education, including coordinating cross functional team actions and responses to crisis events as they arise and supporting functions in the development and maintenance of functional and operational (not just strategic) level risk management.
- Drive performance improvement and culture change through effective risk management and assurance practices.
- Support the development and improvement of digital platforms as part of the risk framework including system governance, system reviews
- Facilitate and undertake risk assessments, develop risk profiles with appropriate mitigation strategies
- Proactively engage on risk management processes and concepts to reach the future state
- Influence change across a broad stakeholder group
- Deliver training and awareness initiatives to promote a risk-aware culture

**Your day-to-day**

As Risk Manager you will:

- Optimise the risk capability of the Group and ensure both strategic, functional and operational risks are managed to align within the Group’s risk appetite and strategy
- Maintain the Enterprise Risk Management System (ERMS), to deliver ERMS processes, procedures and training programs that meet the agreed requirements of the Group and relevant regulatory requirements
- Maintain the Compliance Framework and its integration with the ERMS to deliver improved compliance across the network and support office
- Assist in the development of best-practice enterprise risk management policies to ensure strategic, functional and operational risks are managed to align with the Group’s risk appetite and that the Group complies with all relevant legislative and regulatory requirements
- Assist in the development and delivery of behavioural safety culture programs
- Improve reporting and oversight of risk management at all levels
- Refine and improve existing risk management processes and provide assurance that compliance mechanisms are in place
- Provide advice to leadership teams regarding the management and reporting of risks
- To promote a culture that is aligned with G8 Core Values and Behavioural Competencies and adheres to G8 policies and procedures and the National Quality Framework

**About You**
In order to be successful in this position you will have:

- Relevant qualifications within Risk, Compliance or similar.
- Significant experience in a similar environment and role.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and interpreting legislation/regulations, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Strong understanding of, and experience with, risk management standards and theory.

The successful applicant will bring strong influencing and commercial skills demonstrated previously in a large and complex organisation. You will be comfortable dealing with all levels within an organisation and be able to demonstrate your previous experience in the identification of enterprise-wide risks, whilst proactively engaging about risk management concepts and processes to enhance corporate decision making.
