**About the Role**

**Major Duties**
- Lead the compliance and risk function (team of 40 risk and compliance specialists) in the implementation and continuous improvement of operational governance frameworks as well as ongoing analysis of Youi’s operations.
- Liaise and collaborate with the 2nd line.
- Guide operational risk oversight and report on all risk matters to the executive committee and other senior leaders as required.
- Support the EGMs and COO in strategic risks and special review projects.
- Actively engage with the business to communicate and embed risk frameworks and drive a risk culture in which awareness and thinking is built into day-to day business decisions;
- Partner with key stakeholders on the development of strategic initiatives by providing advice and early guidance on compliance and risk considerations, problem solving and required control frameworks using a solutions-based, collaborative and commercial approach;
- Ensure remedial action is implemented for risks outside the Youi’s tolerance;
- Grow and empower the compliance and risk team, elevating competencies where required and supporting them in professional development opportunities.

**About You**
- At least 5 years’ experience in governance, compliance or risk related role, preferably within a general insurance or financial services organisation.
- Experience in operational risk strategies and understanding of the insurance compliance and regulatory landscape.
- Experience in supervising and leading teams
- Experience with regulators and understanding of key governing legislation.
