We are looking for a Permit Officer who has a minimum of 1 to 2 years experience in an engineering environment who will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of the Work Permit Office during the construction of the companies Offshore Patrol Vessels (OPVs).
- 6 - 12 month position with potential to transition into a permanent position
- Located in Henderson
- Immediate start

WHAT THE ROLE ENTAILS:

- Ensure compliance and alignment
- Working with trades, actively assess and set controls for high risk activities
- Ensure processes and reporting is aligned with existing procedures and regulations
- Raise, review and issue Work Permits
- Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers and other key stakeholders
- Coordinate the distribution and maintenance of operational equipment stored in the Permit Office
- Work collaboratively with the companies engineering team, safety team, WHSE Manager and Senior WHSE Advisor
- Other duties as required

WHAT CAN WE EXPECT FROM YOU?
- Experience in an engineering environment is desirable
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Good problem solving abilities
- Well-developed skills in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Well-developed Administration skills
- Ability to self-manage and work to tight deadlines
- Ability to work as part of a team and autonomously
- Qualifications in Issue Work Permits and Confined Space is desirable
- Experience gained within a Defence or shipbuilding environment is desirable
- Experience working within the WHSE field in shipbuilding/heavy engineering is desirable
