Internal career progression has created this opportunity within the regional internal audit function in Melbourne.
The core focus of the role is to focus on the investment teams and their portfolio management and trading processes. You will execute and coordinate risk-based audit and advisory engagements, across aligned investment divisions and functional areas to evaluate the internal control environment and use your expertise to contribute to the implementation and operations of audit procedures.
Responsibilities include:
- Overseeing the delivery of the audit and advisory engagements;
- Assessing the adequacy of the control environment, identify control gaps and opportunities for continuous improvement;
- Assisting in developing and communicating the objectives of an engagement to the audit and investment management teams;
- Challenging established processes and controls to ensure they are adequate to mitigate risk;
- Influencing management to act on recommendations to strengthen the control environment and make process improvements;
- Communicating expectations to the team and provides meaningful feedback to help develop team members by identifying and communicating areas for improvement in a timely manner;
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with investment management across aligned division and risk partners; and
- Participating in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
