**The Role**
Maritime Systems Division, within Defence's Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group, is seeking a professional, motivated Engineer to provide support for the sustainment of Navy’s new Auxiliary Oiler Replenishment ships. The Requirements Manager is accountable under limited direction to undertake Systems Engineering and Requirements and Risk Management tasks. They will work under the direction of the Systems Engineering Manager within the AORCASPO Enterprise Engineering section on the Garden Island Dockyard Precinct to maintain requirements traceability of the AOR within the SPO engineering management processes.
Experience with TRMS, IBM© Rational© DOORS© within the maritime context is highly desirable. Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills will be required to regularly liaise and coordinate with a broad range of stakeholders, including executives, contractors, APS and ADF members. Highly developed written communication skills will be required to prepare and review SPO plans, guidance and documentation.
**About our Team**
We are the Auxiliary Oiler Replenishment System Program Office (AORCASPO).The new replenishment oilers were built by Spanish shipbuilding company, Navantia, based on the Spanish Navy’s SPS Cantabria auxiliary-oiler replenishment ship. The vessels are intended to carry fuel, dry cargo, water, food, ammunition, equipment and spare parts to provide operational support for the deployed naval or combat forces operating far from the port on the high seas for longer periods.
In addition to replenishment, the vessels can be used to combat against environmental pollution at sea, provide logistics support for the armed forces, and to support humanitarian operations and relief operations following a natural disaster. We are a diverse workforce which includes Australian Defence Force personnel, Australian Public Servants and Defence Industry Partners.
You will be a team player with highly developed communication and stakeholder management skills. Within this position we are looking for someone who genuinely fosters a curiosity for innovative possibilities and an enthusiasm to learn and drive change in order to gain efficiencies. They need to display an ability to learn rapidly and adapt quickly to changing complex situations and uncertainty. They need to take ownership of outcomes, and lead tasks to success. This is a desk based position involving computer use and working with others towards shared goals in a collaborative team environment.
