A large government agency based in Sydney’s CBD is actively recruiting a Change Manager to work within the IT division. Reporting to the Team Lead, Strategic Change and Communication, the role will design and deliver change impact assessments, change strategies, change communications and training plans, and will undertake other change management and communications activities as required for the successful delivery of IT projects. The role may work across one or multiple projects, depending on demand.

**Key responsibilities will include**:

- Develop change management initiatives for the people and process related changes caused by projects
- Develop and implement change management strategies based on the details of the change and the identified impact on the groups being affected by the change
- Identify potential change risks and anticipated points of resistance and develop specific plans to mitigate or address the concerns
- Develop a set of actionable and targeted change management plans - including an engagement and communication plan, and training plan - for each identified project
- Conduct readiness assessments, evaluates results, and present findings in a logical and easy to understand manner
- Provide proactive and visible coaching to executive leaders who are the “change sponsors”
- Identify resistance and performance gaps, and work to develop and implement corrective actions
- Create and enable reinforcement mechanisms and celebrations of success
- Collaborate and consult with project managers and key stakeholders in impacted business units to understand the challenges to be overcome in the design, development and implementation of communication plans
- Develop and maintain excellent working relationships across the business, including with members of the TPO and ITD teams, key partners and program stakeholders

**Experience to be considered for this position includes**:

- 4+ years change management experience, including having been sole or lead change manager on a mid-size+ project
- High level stakeholder engagement and consultation skills, including senior stakeholder engagement
- Demonstrated skills in persuasion and influencing
- Experience delivering change management within large and complex organisations
- Skills in dealing with resistant and opposing stakeholders
- Knowledge of current change management and change communication trends and methodologies
- Experience in development and delivery of change and communications strategies and plans
- Tertiary qualification in communications, marketing, project management or business management, or equivalent experience.
