The new Building Commission NSW has been established after the NSW Government
recognised the substantial progress made by Fair Trading and the Office of the Building
Commissioner in delivering once-in-a-generation reforms of the building and
construction industry. The new commission will not only be the industry regulator, but
also a collaborator with consumers and industry to ensure standards, capabilities,
capacity and resilience continue to be lifted across the sector to deliver quality homes
and meet the state’s housing targets.

Reporting to the Executive Officer, this Project Officer role will suit a person with
experience in project management and will provide a range of project management and
administrative support services to enable the Office of Executive Director Building
Operations to complete tasks and achieve outcomes within specified deadlines.
A minimum of three (3) days per week working in the office is a requirement for this role.
**Responsibilities include**:
principles and support the project lead/s in the delivery of organisational and/or
business projects
- Developing and maintaining customer, stakeholders and vendor relationships through
effective communication, negotiation, and issues management to ensure project
deliverables are met
- Coordinating working groups, committees, and consultations to facilitate exchange of
information and support project completion in line with project plans
- Preparing and maintaining project related documentation and source and collate
information for reporting, monitoring and evaluation purposes to contribute to
achievement of the project outcomes and identification of emerging issues
- Undertaking research and analysis, identifying trends and preparing project briefs, to
support informed decision-making and planning.

- Proven experience in project management and achieving key deliverables.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to develop long-term relationships
with senior executives and management.
- Demonstrated ability to use expertise to achieve outcomes, and take responsibility
for delivering intended outcomes
- Demonstrated experience in researching and analysing information to make
recommendations based on relevant evidence
- Critical problem solving and analytical thinking skills to assess situations and
develop effective resolution strategies.
- Stakeholder engagement, relationships/ expectations management.

Salary Clerk Grade 7/8, with the base salary for this role starting at $106025 base plus superannuation
