**About the Role**

As an Assistant Category Manager for Wine, you will partner with the broader Wine team for our BWS brand and contribute to the execution of the overarching category strategy, with a key focus on range and discovery. You will build and manage supplier relationships end to end (from buying to promotions) and will use your strong knowledge of the category and understanding of competitors, brands, consumer & shopper trends to create customer focused promotional strategies to drive sustainable growth.

Reporting to the Category Manager, you will also:

- Partner closely with the Commercial Wine team to ensure inclusion of product in promotional plan
- Own end to end promotional planning rhythm for region by partnering with relevant suppliers and internal teams to execute promotions that deliver upon strategic category objectives
- Provide exceptional support to our store teams in delivering world-class promotional execution and ensuring that issues are addressed and queries resolved in a timely manner
- Act as a thought leader and work closely with the Merchandise Assistant to ensure accurate and timely management of end to end promotional administration
- Utilise available data to regularly review performance with internal and external stakeholders
- Prepare and brief major category campaigns, along with key supplier funded activities

This role can be based in either Melbourne or Sydney.

**About You**:
You will bring to the role strong stakeholder management and influencing skills with the ability to build collaborative relationships. You will have solid commercial acumen and critical thinking with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Proven experience in promotions management within a buying environment (preferred)
- Strong numerical and analytical skills, with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- A customer centric attitude and a passion for the liquor industry
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills and SAP
- Degree or equivalent qualifications in business will be highly regarded
