EQUANS is currently looking for an experienced and proficient Procurement Manager to join the Procurement team at our Fairfield office in Melbourne. The Procurement Manager will be responsible for ensuring the Procurement strategy is adhered to, maintain consistency, compliance and within budget. Work with business management to identify, agree and realise purchasing cost reduction opportunities from strategic sourcing and vendor negotiations. This role would suit someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
- Role Overview_
- Conducting supplier negotiations, evaluation, down selection, and ongoing management
- Regular audit & reviews of supplier performance, compliance, and price/discount adherence
- Deliver, implement, and maintain category management strategies for direct and indirect spend categories
- Negotiating supplier rebating arrangements and supporting business teams in major project pricing
- Formulating group purchasing policies & guidelines in line with EQUANS standards and communicating these throughout the business
- Process - driving the purchasing process engineering towards standardisation, compliance, and controls
- Reporting - provide spend analysis and reporting (real-time and empirical data) in constant search of prioritised cost saving opportunities, and tracking of realised purchasing cost savings
- Transformation/conversion of information from one format to another - systems solutions, improvements to support Purchasing/Procurement
- Key skills and experience required _
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a procurement role, preferably involved in procuring materials and services in the construction services business including electrical, communications, HVAC and Fire Safety systems will be highly regarded
- Strong negotiation skills - partnering with major suppliers to obtain best outcomes
- A high standard of interpersonal skills
- Demonstrable experience in delivering business improvements within a fast-paced procurement/supply chain environment
- A high standard of communication (written and verbal)
- Highly ethical, professional, and organised approach in managing priorities
- Sound commercial acumen - understand budget management processes and forecast future demand
- Strong analytical skills
- Planning, organising, coordinating, and achieving results
- Advanced MS Excel skills
