**About the role**
In this newly created role, you will responsible for providing expert clinical expertise to the Community Care Department in the areas of quality management, compliance, auditing and incident management. You will be a key innovator in areas of continuous improvement within the City’s Community Care Department, in accordance with City of Greater Geelong policies and the regulatory guidelines of the Home Care Package Program and Commonwealth Home Support Programme.
This is a temporary 12 month Part time role (0.68 FTE - 26hrs per week)
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide and maintain up-to-date knowledge of developments in areas of clinical specialty and relevance related to the provision of inhome aged care services to older people living at home
- Contribute to and actively participate in the Quality program in Community Care, including but not limited to assisting with incident and complaint management, continuous improvement, and training and development of staff
- Contribute to the effective and efficient management of Home Care Package Program ensuring that services and supports are managed within the limits of the package whilst also meeting clients’ needs.
- Ensure consistent, effective and efficient administrative systems are maintained.
- Ensure regular collection and reporting of statistical and other data.
**About you**
To be successful in this role, you will have previous experience in a quality/compliance role within the residential or in home aged care setting. You will have a person centered approach, be professional in your work at all times, and demonstrate a continuous improvement mindset.You will be passionate about creating positive change, a keen eye for detail and enjoy problem solving and thinking outside the box.
Essential Experience:
- Experience in planning, implementing, monitoring continuous improvement activities in a community or residential aged care setting
- Experience in a quality related role, or capacity to adapt skills and experience quickly
- Awareness and support of the philosophies of healthy ageing, consumer directed care, promotion of independence and non-intrusive care and general disabilities, including a collaborative approach to decision making.
- Research and evaluation skills including data collection and analysis.
- Experience effectively supporting continuous improvement culture in a team, demonstrated ability to influence culture.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in nursing or allied health, preferably with current registration to peak body
