**The Role**

Reporting directly to the Risk Analytics Manager, this role is responsible for identifying, modelling and quantifying commodity risks in relation to Origin energy market trading and operations.

It will also be responsible for working directly with stakeholders to identify and mitigate the drivers of risks.

**Responsibilities & Duties**
- Understand Origin's commodity exposures. Follow existing business processes and procedures to help gather inputs and assumptions, run and maintain models, reconcile results, write report sections and share results with stakeholders.
- Check compliance against CRMS policies and risk limits. Work across teams to share and monitor Origin's overall risk with respect to budget and Long-Term Financial Plan benchmarks.
- Assist the market risk team to deliver common portfolio knowledge with other teams via monthly assumptions meetings for each commodity.
- Compile/review QA packs each month. Maintain analyst procedures, report archiving and assist with Audit.
- Assist to test and promote trusted models, reporting tools, dashboards, and key charts.

**About you**

You are either a recently graduate or have 6-months-1 year experience and looking to grow your career as a business analyst. You have a continuous growth and learning mindset and take it upon yourself to work on personal projects that you are passionate about sharing.
- Analytical and numerate. Qualification in a relevant quantitative discipline e.g. finance, accounting, engineering, mathematics, computer science etc.
- 1 year of work experience in any field.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
- Skilled in Excel/Tableau or other data manipulation tools.
- Ability to problem solve with excellent attention to detail.
- Self-starter with an interest in the energy sector and a desire to prove analytical abilities in a professional setting.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines.
