**About the role**:
As a key member of the Pricing Operations team, you will play a vital role in reporting and analysis to support the development of pricing methodologies and minimise risk. The Pricing Analyst is integral to ensuring the wholesale repositories are maintained which is critical for Origin’s accurate demand forecasting, financial forecasting and wholesale position management.

**Why this role matters?**

Delivering complex pricing methodologies to balance Origin’s strategic portfolio objectives with competition in the retail market (electricity, gas and carbon/ environmental).
- Mitigating Origin’s exposures in the National Electricity Market, Short Term Trading Markets, Declared Wholesale Gas Market and other retail gas markets.
- Providing analysis of portfolio risk associated with specific customers, segments and/or products to support decisions regarding physical and financial trading.
- Proactively providing business intelligence and insights to key sales leads to help inform and optimise sales strategy.
- Maintaining and improving robust operational processes and procedures.
- Ensuring pricing is approved in accordance with the Commodity Risk Management System.
- Effectively communicating with a range of internal counterparties to achieve competitive and timely responses to tenders

**What will you bring?**

You are a strategic thinker capable of identifying, quantifying and developing value added solutions for Origin’s portfolio. You are highly numerate with excellent analytical skills and problem-solving skills. With an extensive background knowledge of retail pricing in a utilities / commodity type large business you will be able to make decisions under pressure and be accountable.
- Tertiary qualification in Finance, Maths or Commerce
- Minimum two years of experience in energy or similar industry
- Technical skills: previous experience Excel, SQL, Python, and Tableau / Power BI skills.
- Highly effective at developing strong internal and external relationships and can work cooperatively with people from a wide range of disciplines (portfolio trading, retail, legal, finance and technology)
- Ability to drive a process forward.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills (reports, briefs, investment proposals, external communications).
