The Gas Trading team is responsible for managing the sourcing and supply of gas, gas transport and gas storage to meet the requirements of EnergyAustralia’s customer and generation business.

**Purpose of the Role**

In this role, you will report into the Gas Trading Leader and responsibilities will include the contract management and optimisation of the wholesale portfolio consisting of gas supply, gas transportation and gas storage agreements to serve EnergyAustralia’s gas customers and other gas needs. You will
- Provide support and advice in implementing and updating agreed bidding strategies and providing advice on activities in the domestic gas markets
- Provide support and advice to the regulatory and compliance team with regards to the continued reforms and transformation in the domestic gas market, to add value and ensure compliance
- Actively support the Commercial Leads in contract negotiations and the operationalisation of contracts as required
- Evaluating market conditions and translate into existing/potential gas contracts with a view to maximising value within the portfolio is a key activity

To be successful in this role, you will have the** a**bility to evaluate and analyse information, risks and opportunities to make correct judgement-calls, take timely corrective action and influence others in a climate of significant change. You will have good understanding of the Australian Energy Market and operational knowledge of the East coast gas markets.
- Conceptual and analytical thinker, able to take complex problems and provide simple solutions
- Expert consultation and negotiation skills that achieve value add outcomes for all parties
- Ability to build effective relationships, influence and communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders to achieve support and deliver desired outcomes.
- Tertiary qualifications in Business/Commercial/Management or related discipline.
