**The Opportunity**
We’re looking for a passionate and dynamic **People & Culture Manager** to join our team on a **15-month fixed-term contract**, playing a key role in shaping and supporting our retail and HQ teams. In this fast-paced and exciting role, you’ll work across all HR pillars with a strong focus on attracting, developing, and retaining top talent. If you're driven by culture, performance, engagement, and leadership growth—and thrive in the energy of retail—this is your chance to make a real impact as we work toward our vision of becoming the **world’s leading streetwear group** and redefining the next generation of retail.
**Who we are**
Culture Kings represents the relationship between music, sport, and fashion. These are the three foundation pillars upon which Culture Kings stands. Within each of these components, streetwear has underlined and evolved to become an essential part of culture. Culture Kings prides itself on exclusivity and superiority offering a premium retail experience across all genres, cultures, styles, and ages combined with an extensive and curated range from 100+ leading street, sport, and fashion brands from all around the globe. **Key Responsibilities**:
- Assist with recruitment across both Retail and HQ, while ensuring the effective use and upkeep of the applicant tracking system (e.g., Lever).
- Plan and execute cultural initiatives and team events to promote engagement, collaboration, and connection across departments.
- Conduct regular employee check-ins to support retention, and coordinate digital exit interviews to identify and address trends impacting turnover.
- Provide frontline support for employee relations matters, including coaching leaders on low-level interpersonal and performance issues, and managing escalated cases as appropriate.
- Investigate and resolve employee relations concerns, escalating serious matters (e.g., discrimination, harassment, or ethical breaches) to relevant internal contacts.
- Lead onboarding and induction programs to ensure new hires understand the company’s values, culture, and expectations from day one.
- Promote learning and development by supporting employee upskilling initiatives, and collaborating on job aids, training resources, and development programs.
- Ensure compliance with HR policies, Fair Work directives, award conditions, and data privacy standards, maintaining secure and confidential employee records.
- Support workplace health and safety efforts in partnership with the OH&S Manager, ensuring incidents are documented, reported, and managed effectively, while fostering a culture of safety.
**What you will bring**:
- 3+ years' experience in a People & Culture/HR generalist role, ideally with retail exposure
- Strong knowledge of Australian employment law and modern awards (knowledge of NZ employment law highly advantageous)
- Proven ability to influence and build relationships across all levels of the business
- Experience in driving employee engagement and performance improvement
- Strong coaching, communication, and conflict resolution skills
- A hands-on, solutions-focused approach with a passion for people
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-changing retail environment
**Why Culture Kings?**:
- Generous team discounts and employee recognition
- Exciting, fast-paced, and dynamic environment with a supportive People & Culture team
- Career development opportunities in a growing business
