**THE ROLE**
This is a unique opportunity to join Origin Energy’s Advanced Analytics team. The Future Energy & Demand Analytics team plays a pivotal role in providing valuable insights into Future Energy solutions and opportunities including analytics for solutions such as Solar PV, Batteries, and Electric Vehicles, informs stakeholders of market demand insights across various fuels, and analyses emerging developments across multiple business divisions and growth initiatives, informing executive decision making and long-term strategic direction across Origin. This function is critical to understanding the rapidly evolving energy landscape and drive optimal commercial outcomes including supporting the newly established OriginZero business.

The role will provide analytics support to a variety of stakeholders across Future Energy, OriginZero, Energy Markets, and the broader Data & Analytics team.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Future Energy & Demand Analytics, you’ll be responsible for and get the opportunity to:

- **Be at the cutting edge, bringing Future Energy solutions to life with Data Analytics**: Leading data activities that bring to market emerging and maturing DER and related solutions such as Batteries, Solar PV, Electric Vehicles, and Carbon reductions solutions.
- **Weave data stories that influence business leaders**: Utilising commercial acumen, data visualisation, and effective storytelling, communicate data driven insights to senior and executive management across Origin.
- **Implement a variety of technical solutions**: Core Analytics activities, including both large scale and ad-hoc data modelling, insight development, communication, and presentation. This ranges across a variety of solutions and techniques including but not limited to customer insights and segmentation, timeseries forecasting, energy and financial optimisation, and combined solution modelling.
- **Wrangle varied and interesting data**: Hands on with data wrangling, data asset development, and core BI capabilities to prepare data for analytics and various business needs.
- **Build data assets that get used every day**: Supporting and assisting management and stakeholders operationalise insights and other analytical assets.
- **Work with an industry leading team**: Facilitate and extract requirements from multiple stakeholders to understand, frame, and solve business problems and provide deep insights.
- **Add depth and make an impact**: Develop and champion best practices and processes across the team to support seamless consistent high-quality delivery.

**IS THIS YOU?**

You're experienced in and have:

- A demonstrated ability to pull together disparate pieces of information, make the complex understandable for non-technical audiences, and create a meaningful narrative for executives and senior management
- General Analytics & Insight competencies including strong SQL skills, data visualisation and interpretation experience, insight communication and presentation abilities, data management experience, and an eye for commercial outcomes
- Experience in establishing new stakeholder relationships and maintaining existing ones across various business units
- Ability to collaborate with technical team members and business stakeholders, take responsibility for delegated initiatives, prioritise tasks, and package and communicate insights effectively
- Curiosity to learn about new and emerging energy solutions, over time becoming a SME
- Proficient in the use of SQL and Tableau (essential)
- Python coding experience (desirable)
- Exposure to Amazon based cloud solutions (desirable)
- Experience within the energy industry (desirable)
