**What we do**
The Taskforce was established on 1 July 2021 to deliver a simpler, more efficient and digitalised cross-border trade environment; that will deliver benefits to business, the broader economy and government. The Taskforce is leading work across Commonwealth Government agencies to simplify Australia’s international trade regulations, modernise outdated ICT systems, and strengthen Australia’s economic resilience. As part of this work to make cross‐border trade easier for Australian businesses, the Taskforce is required to communicate these changes to a variety of audiences, such as the public, other government agencies and business stakeholders.
**The opportunity**
Work at the Taskforce is fast-paced and presents an exciting opportunity to collaborate, design and deliver whole-of-government outcomes. The role provides the opportunity to work across government bringing together a broad suite of skills, including strategic policy, regulatory reform, data and digital strategy, human-centred design, business engagement, program management, and corporate support.

The Taskforce has a vacancy for a high performing APS6 Finance Officer. Reporting to the Assistant Director - Procurement and Contracts, the Finance Officer will assist the Taskforce with their financial needs and obligations procurement, contracting and financial needs.

**Requirements**:
The Finance Officer role is within the Taskforce and supports the Taskforce at various levels to deliver a range of financial and procurement activities. The role is responsible in providing financial and advice, undertaking financial management activities, assisting teams with their procurement and contracting needs, and building productive working relationships across the Taskforce.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Experience with accounting systems similar to SAP, TM1, P2P, TRIM, or the ability to quickly acquire the skills to successfully navigate and use the systems.
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge with all facets of accounts financial planning and management, in particular accounts payable and receivable, data entry, invoicing, payment, reconciliation, general ledger and budget planning
- Demonstrated ability undertake work with a moderate level of complexity and sensitivity under limited guidance, while communicating effectively with various stakeholders at multiple levels
- Sound knowledge of and compliance with legislative frameworks and best practice with regards to the PGPA Act and Commonwealth Procurement Rules.
**Deliverables**
The Finance Officer will:
- Provide relevant and accurate financial and procurement advice, using contemporary tools and practies to ensure compliance.
- Manage all accounts payablea and receivables, complete data entry tasks, invoicing, payment and reconciliation.
- Assist in the preparation of financial and procurement reporting, budget development and forecasting.
- Contribute and conduct financial analysis to support improved business outcomes and identify financial risks and business opportunities.
**Position Duty Statement**
The Finance Officer will be responsible to ensure the finance activities align with the Taskforce deliverables, budget, and governance structures. This will include:
- Provide relevant and accurate advice on budget and financial management, financial policy, procurement, and contracting matters.
- Undertake financial administration and analysis including financial and procurement reporting, forecasting, invoicing and accruals
- Assist with internal budget development and maintenance, including mid-year review
- Assist the Taskforce in procurement and contracting requirements, undertaking audits to ensure compliance and improve data integrity
- Develop and maintain good communication channels with relevant stakeholders to facilitate and deliver on the requirements of the Taskforce
- Contribute to the team’s innovation and continuous business process improvement and identify risks and business opportunities.
