**About the Role**

We are seeking a **Concierge **to join our vibrant City of Melbourne Libraries branch and collaborate with our other branches across the City of Melbourne.

As the Concierge, you will work collaboratively within a team of concierges to deliver outstanding customer support and concierge services under the direction of the Concierge Team Leader. Your responsibilities will include welcoming library users, assisting with informational and directional inquiries, and fostering a warm and inviting atmosphere.

You will also ensure a safe and secure environment by monitoring safety protocols, assessing security needs, and implementing necessary processes. Additionally, you will support facilities management and venue operations, including space and room bookings, all while promoting sound safety practices to minimise incidents.

**What you will bring to the Role**
- Appropriate qualifications such as Certificate III in Security Operations or equivalent, and/or two years of relevant experience.
- Hold and maintain a valid Victorian Private Security Licence, or willingness to obtain one.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a strong telephone manner and effective listening abilities, complemented by excellent interpersonal skills for engaging with internal and external customers.
- Proven ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment while de-escalating challenging situations using both verbal and nonverbal cues
- Knowledge and experience working with Health and Safety, OHS and building management systems.
- Understanding of venue management, operations, and booking systems, as well as experience in security services or social/human services is desirable
