ABOUT YOU
Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, this role supports the Human Resources function at Port Phillip Prison through a strong understanding of the company's culture and business philosophy and strategy, and implementing consistent HR policies, frameworks and processes that drive strong employee alignment.
This is a great opportunity for a HR generalist to hone their skills and develop yourself in an ER, operations environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES

**The core responsibilities of this role are to**:

- Mentor and develop supervisors and managers to increase capacity and capability in the management of the disciplinary and performance management process to ensure managers are managing poor performers.
- Drafting a variety human resources documentation inclusive but not limited to formal correspondence with respect to, investigation process, employee discipline process, terminations, performance management and contracts of employment
- Provide HR input on reporting both internally and externally (reporting into the customer, Corrections Victoria)
- Manage all site investigations relating to staff conduct including the co-ordination of external investigators
- Ensure principles of Talent Acquisition policy and associated processes are adhered to through engagement with line managers and the provision of constructive advice and support toward such

**The essential requirements from you**:

- Minimum of 3 years' experience within a busy, 24/7, fast paced, operational environment
- Preparation of accurate and to high standard HR documentation including reports and letters in various formats
- Understanding and knowledge of recruitment processes
- Knowledge of Enterprise Agreements and Awards
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with an overarching understanding of and commitment to confidentiality where required
- Demonstrate ability to influence outcomes and decisions

ABOUT G4S & PORT PHILLIP PRISON
G4S manages Port Phillip Prison on behalf of Corrections Victoria. We are responsible for ensuring that both sentenced prisoners and those who are in our care on remand (those in custody awaiting court) are supervised and managed in a secure, safe and humane manner. We also provide programs designed to reduce reoffending and appropriate services to support the well-being of prisoners and their families.
