This role is a full time permanent role for an ambitious individual to join the team as a Credit Control Services(CCS) Operational Risk Specialist at our Parramatta Centre.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Ensure that all key risks within CCS operations are identified, mitigated and monitored by an appropriate control environment that is commensurate with the risk appetite of the business.
- Act as a risk and control SME for CCS. Ensure management understanding of risks, controls, ownership and accountability.
- Develop Risk and Control assessment and establish appropriate operational controls and tests based on risk assessments to ensure that the Group’s Operational Risk Management Framework is met and fully adhered to.
- Ensure the consistent and effective implementation and performance of operational risk and control assurance of the ‘First Line of Defence’ for CCS.
- Cultivate Operational Risk disciplines within the CCS teams.
- Implement Risks and Control Framework including control monitoring plans.
- Execution of the Risk Assessment Process
- Monitor specific key risks and key controls requiring improvement or remediation. Review adequacy of action plans and monitor progress of remediation plan to closure.
- Report issues identified by testing and monitoring. Escalate as appropriate and record in Helios.
- Drive best operational practice through Operational Risk activity, themed reviews, liaison with other functional areas and CCS.
- Provide coordination and expertise to business teams to ensure robust Operational Risk capabilities within CCS.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Good understanding of operational risk and controls, preferably gained through experience in front line and risk roles
- A good understanding of the Group’s Operational Risk Framework
- Proven problem solving skills with ability to consider alternative and lateral solutions
- Highly developed communication and influencing skills
- Ability to prioritise and work independently under pressure within a team environment
- Knowledge of the changing regulatory environment
- Demonstrable experience of managing operational risk within appetite during operational change and re-organisation
- A sound knowledge of the Group and the CRM COL business, including products & services
- Significant experience of implementing control frameworks within Risk functions
- Leadership, management and coaching skills
