With a second (already running) workshop takeover at the end of the year we are looking for a Workshop Manager to be another face of the business. This workshop has been running for nearly 40 years, and is a busy and highly recommended workshop in Heidelberg.
As our Workshop Manager, you will be responsible for managing the booking diary, allocating jobs, managing the workflow to maximise productivity, providing technical training to all team members and ordering parts. You will also be the face of the workshop and will be dealing with customers directly.
We’d like to start you off at our home base in Alphington to work alongside the business owner to get you used to our systems, booking diary, pricing structures etc., until our second workshop in Heidelberg handover commences in January, that way you can hit the ground running.
**Responsibilities include**
- Managing and leading a small team
- Handling customer queries and concerns
- Quoting jobs and invoicing customers
- Managing the booking diary and service schedules
- Ordering parts and maintaining a good relationship with suppliers
- Performing roadworthy inspections and signing certificates (We will pay to put you through the tester's course if you do not hold a testing licence already)
- Managing fleet customers
- Getting your hands dirty and working on vehicles with the team
- Ensuring jobs are completed in a timely manner
- Working with KPIs
- Interviewing and hiring new team members

**Requirements**:
- Previous experience in a similar role preferred.
- Must be a qualified mechanic
- Full Australian Drivers License
- Good knowledge across a range of different vehicle brands and types. Knowledge in light trucks advantageous
