Wildlife Victoria has provided the community with a Wildlife Emergency Response service for 35 years. Their mission is to help and protect wildlife through their rescue, education, and advocacy activities. Every year thousands of native animals in Victoria become sick, injured or orphaned, often as a direct result of human activity. If left unassisted, these animals may suffer and die in pain or of starvation. The Wildlife Victoria Emergency Response Service receives notifications from members of the public via its emergency phone and online reporting system, receiving over 100,000 requests for help annually, and helping over 80,000 animals.

Reporting to the CEO, and working closely with the Chair, Board of Directors and Senior Leadership Team, this key role will require an experienced people and culture generalist to develop, implement and integrate HR best practice programs to enhance a positive and thriving culture.

You will have a consultative approach and develop strong relationships with all staff and key stakeholders to assist in all people and culture matters. You will develop and implement P&C policies and procedures, ensure compliance and support activities including employee screening, onboarding, departures, record management and OH&S. This role will collaborate to produce a range of programs including leadership development, orientation and induction, and staff attraction and retention.

About YOU
- Have a minimum of 10 years senior experience in an HR partnership role and direct experience working across the broad range of specialist areas identified for the position across both strategy and operational delivery, including culture & behavioural change, inclusion & diversity, recruitment & retention, issues management and performance management,
- Be highly developed in relationship building, coaching and influencing skills,
- Be an engaging, caring, mature and supportive leader with demonstrated ability to motivate and lead through adversity and develop people to their full potential,
- Demonstrated experience in leading calmly through change, crisis and complexity,
- Advanced stakeholder management skills and proven ability at engaging effectively at all levels, both internally and externally
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Human Resources Management and demonstrated working experience in HR / People & Culture / Leadership Coaching,
- Genuine interest in wildlife.
