**About the Role**
The School of Social and Political Sciences is seeking a dynamic Lecturer in Development Studies with expertise in Gender and Development. This fixed-term opportunity offers the chance to make a significant contribution to teaching and scholarship within the Discipline while developing your individual profile.

As a Teaching Specialist, 70% of your time will be focused on teaching, with the remainder devoted to scholarship/research, leadership, and service.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Preparation and delivery of seminars, lectures and tutorials into the Development Studies teaching programs.
- Subject Coordination, including the supervision of teaching support staff where required.
- Consultation with students and participation in student advising.
- Marking and assessment and finalising results in line with School, Faculty and University policies, processes, and deadlines.
- Assist Student Services and the ASO team with Special Consideration and Academic Integrity queries and outcomes.
- Supervision of honours/graduate students.

**Who We Are Looking For**
We are seeking a committed and engaging educator with an established record of excellence in teaching in the area of Gender and Development, specifically at the graduate level. You have a commitment to inclusivity in student learning and the ability to work collaboratively with students.

You will possess extensive organisational skills as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including a demonstrated ability to work with people from diverse cultural backgrounds.

This position offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the field of Development Studies while fostering your own academic and professional growth within a collaborative and supportive environment.

You will also have:

- A completed PhD in Development Studies or a closely related discipline.
- Proven research expertise in the area of Gender and Development and demonstrated excellence in teaching at the graduate level, specifically in this area_._
- Demonstrated ability to supervise honours and graduate coursework thesis students.
- An emerging record of pedagogical and/or academic research that informs and enhances teaching practice.
