We are seeking an experienced Safety and Sustainability Advisor to lead and coordinate and manage safety at our Tomago underground operation. This is a 5:2 roster.
This role will report in to the National Licensing, Safety and Sustainability Manager - Underground and will provide high level advice to senior site management across a variety of issues ranging from managing return to work cases through to conducting ICAM investigations onsite.
**Key responsibilities for this role include**:
- Provide advice, and guidance to operational management on statutory safety requirements including best practices within WHSE;
- Act as a safety advisor and resource for site management enhancing the site safety, performance, and culture.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to line management and operational staff to ensure our goal of Zero Harm.
- Ensure the continuous improvement of onsite safety in accordance with organizational policies and procedures;
- Guide the business in achieving its goals without compromising safety or health and encourage at all times a positive and pro-active approach to safety throughout the Group’s operations;
- Provide regular reporting to senior management.
- Be proactively involved in supporting our Workers Compensation and Injury Management team and site management with regards to effective injury management as the site based Return to Work Coordinator;
- Building relationships with key internal and external stakeholders;
- Ensure continuous improvement and enhancement of our Zero Harm culture.
**The successful applicant will possess**:
- Diploma in WHSE, with professional WHSE experience;
- Certificate IV Trainer and Assessor preferred;
- Recognised training and significant experience with conducting ICAM investigations, injury investigations; including managing of Return to Work Cases and Workers Compensation issues;
- High level leadership skills, the ability to influence and motivate others,
- Be able to coach and mentor personnel at varying levels of management.
- Customer centric approach with a solutions based approach;
- Strong analytical, reporting and written communication skills;
