UGL is currently looking for a suitably qualified HSE Advisor for the upcoming Outage at Vales Point Power Station, located just south of Newcastle, NSW. Ideally you would be local to the area.
As a key member of the team, this role will be responsible for providing support to the HSE Lead for all safety, health and environment activities on the project.
Key responsibility areas
· Provide advice and support to the HSE Lead in the implementation and auditing of Safety, Health and Environment Management Plans
· Ensuring compliance with the Safety and Environment Management plan, Traffic Management plan and Fatigue Management plan
· Advise on all safety, health and environmental issues
· Analyse safety statistics, and report on trends and recommend actions to improve safety
· Review all project activities, work practices and procedures for continuous improvement in safety, health and environment
· Provide support and advice to Supervisors in order to achieve health and safety objectives
About You
· Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role
· Formal qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety
· Knowledge of OH&S legislation, Codes of Practice and Australian and State Standards as they apply to the construction and maintenance industry
· Experience in maintenance or shutdown projects
· Computer literacy and proficiency in the use of Microsoft products in particular Word, Excel and Outlook
