**ABOUT THE ROLE**
The role of the Tenancy Relations Officer is to provide quality housing services to a wide range of tenants to achieve sustainable tenancies. This position is responsible for the performance of a full range of tenancy management and tenant service functions within a defined catchment area. Project a professional, cooperative, confidential and courteous image when liaising with Managers, staff and clients and the general public.
**The main responsibilities of this role include**:
The role of the Property Manager is to provide quality housing services to a wide range of tenants to achieve sustainable tenancies. This position is responsible for the performance of a full range of tenancy management and tenant service functions:
- Respond to telephone, written, electronic and face-to-face enquiries regarding all tenancy services.
- Refer tenants to other services and support partners as required.
- Address neighbourhood complaints relating to tenants to achieve resolution
- Prepare and represent at tribunal or court.
- Conduct sign-ups of tenancies, including explanations of conditions of tenancy.
- Complete ingoing and outgoing Property Condition Reports and identify tenant charges.
- Conduct property viewings and pre vacate inspections.
- Prepare and represent at tribunal or court.
- Review reports on rental arrears and determine remedial actions.
- Negotiating Payment Plans
- Address issues relating to breaches of tenancy agreements to achieve resolution.
- Maintaining inspection cycles.
- Liaise with Real Estate Agents and/or landlords in relation to breaches of tenancy
**ABOUT YOU**
**Essential**:
- Well-developed communication
- written and verbal, negotiation and conciliation skills.
- Ability to display sensitivity, empathy, discretion and diplomacy.
- Ability to gain sound understanding of the Residential Tenancies Act and other relevant legislation.
- Demonstrated highly developed organisation skills: personal organisation and work organisation.
- Skills in the use of computer software packages for word processing, databases, spreadsheets
- Current unrestricted NSW Drivers Licence
**Desirable**:
- Certificate IV or Diploma in Social Housing or related discipline
- Certificate IV in Real Estate - licence not required
- Experience in the social or community housing sector or residential real estate.
