**The Role**
The Unit Quality Assurance Officer develops, implements and coordinates local RAAF Base quality management assurance activities in accordance with applicable regulations, quality standards and organisational directives. The Unit Quality Assurance Manager is an accountable and autonomous Team Leader who will organise workflows whilst making independent decisions in support of the Unit Quality Management Plan.
They will interpret and provide advice within the scope of the Groups quality management system provisions based on legislation, policy and procedures. They will monitor progress towards corrective action requests, conduct investigations and support the conduct of auditing to ensure the Unit conforms to documented quality processes.
The Unit Quality Assurance Manager is also responsible for sponsoring the local process improvement register and reporting local priorities to higher headquarters. In addition, may be required to engage and communicate with stakeholders to provide advice on issues that affect the Units workplaces and Defence outcomes, in line with broader Governance initiatives. They will be accountable to contribute towards ongoing improvement and professional development, both for themselves and their small team.

The dispersed airbase operations teams assist with delivering Defence capability, providing certified aerodromes that are well maintained and support safe flight operations at RAAF Base Amberley. Also delivering a range of functions to satisfy many applicable Regulations with subordinate policy informing processes, followed by suitably qualified, competent and authorised individuals. The Unit delivers capability in a multifaceted, high tempo environment that brings rewarding challenges and a great sense of purpose.
