About the role
- Newly Created Role - Any 3 Days (0.6) - Hybrid Model
- Globally Renowned Performance Arts Institution - Southbank
- Unique mix - as HR Lead & Policy Specialist
As the Australian Ballet School continues its transformational change journey, a new specialist role has been created for an accomplished HR professional with a well-developed level of understanding of broader organisation-wide policy development and maintenance.
As HR Lead it is envisioned that as an experienced and technically strong HR professional you will manage day-to-day people responsibilities including:
- Recruitment, on/offboarding, employment contracts, position descriptions
- Manage all employee relations issues
- Lead employee development programs
- Foster OH&S/Child Safe protocols
As Policy Lead you will manage and maintain current policies, develop and draft new policies and procedures as required to ensure ongoing compliance with the School’s legal and regulatory obligations. Assessing risk and recommending changes in line with legislative and regulatory requirements and in line with the School’s vision and purpose will be key components of your remit. You will lead the education and communication of policies across all areas of the School community ensuring understanding and practical access for all. You will have strong problem solving and analytical skills.
Appropriate tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated deep experience covering HR, policy development/drafting and/or governance will be essential for this critical role. While this role is a stand-alone position with relative autonomy, reporting to the Executive Director, highly developed stakeholder engagement skills will be essential to work collaboratively across the School community. Previous exposure to the education/NFP/Arts training sector would be an advantage. Preference will be given to familiarity with Child Safe protocols, OH&S, RTO compliance and policy writing.
