We are looking for an experienced **Payroll Manager** to supervise a small team of payroll officers in a high-volume payroll environment.

**About the Role**
You will join the team as a Payroll Manager. You will work with and lead experienced Payroll Officers who are familiar with working in a high volume fast paced environment within the industry.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Working with a team to process payroll for 1,700 + employees on a weekly basis.
- Lead, coach, and support your team of payroll professionals, driving performance and continuous development
- Ensure compliance and adherence to all relevant industry awards and stay up to date with any changes to legislation.
- Support payroll officers with a timely response to payroll queries.
- Lead the payroll system configuration and testing in consultation with the Systems Manager.
- Responsible for lodging the group payroll tax including the annual reconciliation.
- Oversee superannuation, leave, termination payments, workers' compensation, and employment-related tax obligations.
- Complete the end of year STP finalisation.
- Complete manual long service leave calculations.
- First escalation point for payroll issues.
- Providing reports to key stakeholders on a weekly and monthly basis.
- Responding to payroll queries in a timely manner.
- Complete all month end and year end activities.
- Business partnering and liaising with HR, finance and executive teams
- Process improvements and recommendations

About You
- 5+ years' experience managing a high performing team of payroll professionals.
- Strong experience processing end to end payroll.
- Ability to interpret awards and legislation. Working within the Hospitality Industry would be beneficial.
- Being able to operate with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail is essential.
- Enthusiastic and eager to learn

- Understanding of working to deadlines
- Demonstrated understanding of the importance of privacy and confidentiality
- Sound technical payroll skills
- Experience using Deputy and Wage Easy advantageous
