Your new company is a local council based in Western Sydney looking for an experienced WHS BP to join their well-established team on an initial contract of 2 years.

**Your new role**

The Work, Health and Safety Business Partner role is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to complement existing services offered, and to support our Council Safe, Home Safe, Towards Zero program.

Reporting to the Work Health and Safety Manager, you will ensure the effectiveness of implementation and management of WHS and Injury Management policies and procedures.

You will be required to develop strong internal relationships and be independent in managing your areas of responsibility.

The role will be mostly administrative work, reviewing and updating our WHSMS to align with current legislation, Codes of Practice and any internal processes that are undertaken (see Key Result Area 1 in the Position Description attached).

The update of these policies and procedures is likely to include the need to consult within the business regarding the changes, and then to implement with the support and assistance of the WHSBP’s who manage each of the departments, as well as HSR’s and People Leaders. Ensuring accuracy across documents and project planning is essential to ensure delivery of an updated WHSMS.

**What you'll need to succeed**

In order to succeed you will ideally have:

- Tertiary qualification in Work Health and Safety or relevant field
- Relevant work experience in WH&S and IM
- Current Class C Driving Licence
