**The Organisation**
This large and diverse organisation based in North Ryde is a leader within their field of animal healthcare. As they continue to grow and expand their footprint throughout Australia, they are seeking an experienced Health, Safety & Wellbeing Business Partner to join the HSW team and provide operational guidance around best practice specific to the vet service operations, whilst also contributing to the overall business HSW strategy

**Role Purpose**
This role works closely with senior Managers and Team Leaders across veterinary service operations to improve internal safety capability through coaching, support, and managing risk to improve health, safety and wellbeing outcomes for the division and wider business.

You will partner with and support the leadership team to drive a continuous improvement approach in Safety and Wellbeing performance and to contribute to the execution of the overall business Health, Safety and Wellbeing Strategy.

Your role will see you:

- Build capability across key stakeholders to implement and embed Safety and Wellbeing processes and programs and a culture of risk management.
- Drive safe systems of work, quality incident investigations and the delivery of visible and felt leadership through the implementation of learning, coaching and monitoring programs.
- Identify operational safety issues and provide advice and assistance in identifying opportunities and solutions that enhanced safety outcome for all.
- Provide input to the development of HSW training plans, working with the L&D team to co-ordinate and at times facilitate training sessions across different sites
- Provide support in incident investigations, identifying root causes and developing robust preventative actions
- Support the delivery of health and wellbeing initiatives to promote a wellbeing-focused culture across the workforce and assist with the development of programs and strategies to assist employees and managers in identifying early interventions
- Support business unit with regulatory compliance activities around vet operations specific activities e.g. drug safety, radiation
- Maintain regular face-to-face contact with all Safety Champions to ensure they are kept informed of key HSW activities. Use this contact to develop a positive safety culture amongst teams and encourage the roll out of this culture to other employees and regular contractors on sites.

**Experience for Success**:

- Qualifications within Work, Health and Safety
- Experience in similar HSW roles in similar industries - healthcare, animal sciences, or similar
- Sound knowledge of workers compensation and injury management legislation and best practices
- Sound knowledge and understanding of psychologically health workplace practices
- Drivers licence to move between sites
- Experience with Incident and Investigation training, e.g. ICAM or similar

**Highly regarded**:

- Membership or affiliation with a safety professional association
- Tertiary qualification in Certificate IV training and assessment preferred
- SIRA Return to Work Certificate preferred
- Mental Health First Aid Certificate highly regarded
