**About the role**
The role of State Transport Manager is to oversee the transport operations within Victoria. As the State Transport Manager, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end transport function, including planning, coordinating, and optimizing the movement of goods throughout the state. You will work closely with the national teams to ensure efficient delivery of products, compliance with regulations, and overall customer satisfaction.

**Responsibilities**
- Develop and implement strategic plans for efficient transportation operations within the state, aligning them with the company's overall goals and objectives.
- Oversee the day-to-day transport operations, including fleet management, driver scheduling, route planning, and load optimization.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including the warehousing, procurement, and customer service teams, to ensure seamless coordination of transportation activities.
- Continuously monitor and analyze transport performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective measures as necessary.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols and compliance with transportation regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees and contractors.
- Lead, train, and develop a high-performing team of transport professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field. A master's degree would be a plus.
- Strong knowledge of transportation operations, regulations, and best practices.
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire others.
- Strong commercial acumen with a track record of budget management.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in using transportation management software and other relevant technology tools.
