The Principal Precincts Transport Advice will play a key lead role in shaping the future transport system for precincts. Working closely with DTP Regions, Modal Planning, across the transport portfolio and with transport, place and land use planners at state and local level, this role will develop and lead initiatives to ensure the transport system supports Government intentions for the development of precincts, to help achieve coordinated and integrated transport and land use outcomes.

Policy Precincts and Innovation is a Group within the Department of Transport and Planning, and is responsible for providing policy direction, planning and leading innovation for integrated, simple, safe connected journeys. The purpose of the Integrated Transport branch is to work across DTP and Government to achieve integrated transport outcomes - integrating transport and land use planning, including integration across modes, regions and between DTP and other Agencies and Departments.

The Precincts Transport Advice branch provides transport planning advice for precincts, including priority and local precincts, in order to achieve coordinated networks and integrated transport and land use outcomes.

**About the Role**

The Principal Precincts Transport Advice will play a key lead role in shaping the future transport system for precincts. Working closely with DTP Regions, Modal Planning, across the transport portfolio and with transport, place and land use planners at state and local level, this role will develop and lead initiatives to ensure the transport system supports Government intentions for the development of precincts, to help achieve coordinated and integrated transport and land use outcomes.

The focus of the team and this role is providing integrated transport advice for the planning and development of the State Precincts, including Arden, Sunshine, Fishermans Bend and Melbourne Biomedical Precinct (Parkville). The role will also provide integrated transport advice for other precincts of regional and local significance and support the implementation of the Transport and Amenity Program (North Melbourne, West Melbourne and Docklands). Further, the role will assist the Manager in building team capability and mentor less experienced team members.

**Knowledge and Skills**
