
Housing Operations Support Community Housing

**Key Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Lead and develop direct reports through coaching and mentoring.
- Generate measurable benefits for tenants and their household members and provide a quality service;
- Contribute to the business and asset plan, and monitor adherence to the plan;
- Actively assist in managing operational and property risks;
- Facilitate budget preparation and delivery;
- Ensure all staff activities comply with applicable legislative and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in networks to support the work of BaptistCare;
- Establish and maintain effective and positive communication with peak bodies, government and other funding bodies as required;
- Facilitate strong interfaces and communication strategies with other business Divisions to promote and facilitate collaboration and co-operation as One BaptistCare;
- Draw on in-depth knowledge of practice areas, professional methodologies & techniques to achieve successful outcomes.
- Ensure the development, implementation and ongoing review of consistent, evidence based and effective systems in consultation with Division. This includes policies, procedures and work instructions that describe the method of delivery of our services;
- Support the leadership of relevant business and system change processes, particularly ensuring that staff are fully aware of associated changes as a result of the rollout of specific projects;
- Communicate & consult constructively with clients, staff & management regarding complex issues appropriate to their various needs;
- Negotiate service delivery issues effectively.
**Minimum qualifications, skills, competencies and experience required**:
- Degree in human services and/or management related fields;
- Demonstrated leadership in the NFP sector;
- Demonstrated commitment to social justice and knowledge of community development principles;
- Knowledge of Residential Tenancy Act, Community Housing policies, procedures and regulatory requirements impacting on housing and client group;
- In depth knowledge and experience in social and affordable housing operations, Housing
- Knowledge of NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal
- Team leadership and highly developed interpersonal skills;
- Good understanding of compliance issues;
- High level of written and verbal communication skills;
- Strong numerical and financial skills.
- Knowledge of issues impacting on families, included aged care, homelessness, housing stress and domestic violence;
- Understanding of and capacity to relate to people from a diverse range of social and cultural backgrounds, including those with complex needs
- Willingness to undertake occasional travel across all housing sites;
- Capacity to backfill for Group Manager Housing Services if needed.
