**About the Role**
The Coordinator, Audience Development & Digital Access will enhance audience engagement and retention with the University’s Archives and Special Collections by designing evidence-based outreach initiatives. Aligned with the University’s Widening Participation Program, the role focuses on identifying barriers to access for diverse audiences and developing a comprehensive communications plan. The appointee will also create a sustainable strategy for digital resources and programming, collaborating with various University teams to consolidate existing online resources and plan for future digital access.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Evaluate access and engagement activities, collecting user experience data aligned with ASC’s strategic goals.
- Analyse data to identify audiences and enhance ASC’s online presence.
- Create a sustainable framework for publishing engaging digital content in line with the University’s web accessibility policy.
- Deliver a strategic communication program for ASC’s activities while building stakeholder relationships to boost engagement.

**Who we are looking for**

You will have a demonstrated understanding of audience development frameworks within cultural organisations or the GLAM sector, alongside strong written and verbal communication skills to engage diverse audiences. You will be capable of leading and monitoring projects independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, and effectively reporting on progress.

You will also have:

- Extensive experience in developing and delivering digital content, including knowledge of web accessibility, SEO tactics, and digital marketing tools.
- Demonstrated expertise in collecting, analysing, and utilising both quantitative and qualitative data to evaluate audience engagement and access activities, with familiarity in Human-Centred Design and User Experience frameworks.
- A relevant postgraduate qualification in media and communications, digital development, or a related discipline, along with an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training.
- Tertiary qualifications and professional experience in communications, arts, or cultural heritage management, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and training.

**Your new team - Archives and Special Collections (ASC)**
ASC develops, provides care for, and facilitates access to the University of Melbourne Archives, Rare Books, Prints and Drawings, Rare Music, Maps and East Asian collections. The department is led by the Associate Director, Archives and Special Collections and University Archivist. It sits within Research and Collection Stewardship, a sub-portfolio of Scholarly Services led by the Director and University Librarian.
