**About Abergeldie**
Abergeldie is a locally owned contractor with 30 years’ industry experience in Australia and New Zealand. We design and deliver projects in the Water, Bridges, Transport, Underground, Energy and Remediation industry sectors. Projects include dams, bridges, tunnels, water and wastewater treatment process facilities, rail infrastructure, mining infrastructure, electrical substations, marine works and pipeline rehabilitation: the complex infrastructure needed to build better communities.
**About the opportunity**
This is an exciting opportunity to work on the Yarra Valley Water Reliability Program which is a nine (9) year program of works which will help to ensure reliable water supply to over two million people and over 61,000 businesses in the northern and eastern suburbs of Melbourne. We will be delivering a diverse range of water infrastructure projects to renew aging and poor performing water and sewer mains as well as various maintenance projects.
As a Stakeholder Engagement Manager, you will lead the development and execution of strategies to effectively engage with stakeholders, and the local community and manage communications to achieve both Abergeldie and Yarra Valley Water’s program objectives.
This is a hands-on role where you work closely with project teams and various stakeholders and be the point of contact for the local community. You will champion engagement strategies that promote positive community and project outcomes. You will also work with the team to develop supplier relationships that support our social procurement goals and objectives.
**What you’ll bring to the team**
- You will have relevant qualifications in communications, public relations, community engagement, or a related field, underpinned by demonstrated success in a similar role.
- You will be experienced in leading communication, engagement, and community initiatives within a construction environment, ideally with experience working on a program of similar size and complexity.
- Beyond technical expertise, you will have exceptional communication skills, with the ability to build respect and trust among colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.
- You will be results-focused with strong leaderships skills and the ability to drive successful project outcomes.
