**About us**

Abergeldie is a locally owned contractor with 30 years’ industry experience in Australia and New Zealand. We design and deliver projects in the Water, Bridges, Transport, Underground, Energy and Remediation industry sectors. Projects include dams, bridges, tunnels, water and wastewater treatment process facilities, rail infrastructure, mining infrastructure, electrical substations, marine works and pipeline rehabilitation: the complex infrastructure needed to build better communities.

**About the opportunity**

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Environmental Manager to join our team in Melbourne to lead and implement our Environmental strategy across Victoria.

It is an exciting time for us in Melbourne with recent project wins including the Yarra Valley Water Reliability Program which is a nine (9) year program of works, as well as a the ABK Joint Venture which is a ten (10) year program where Abergeldie and our joint venture partners BMD and KBR will plan and deliver major infrastructure upgrades in partnership with South East Water. Alongside this, our Rehabilitation portfolio continues to expand, and we are looking for an experienced Environmental Manager to join our team to support this growth.

As an Environmental Manager you will lead and implement our Environmental strategy across various projects and programs in Victoria. You will work closely with National Environment and Sustainability Manager and day to day will;
- Provide operational environmental and sustainability guidance, consistency, and compliance across projects in Victoria to drive a culture of best practice.
- Provide environmental and sustainability technical input to support the mobilisation and delivery process.
- Identify and effectively manage and implement sustainability and environmental risk management controls and ensure we meet all regulatory and legal environmental obligations.
- Providing environmental and sustainability technical input to support the tender process.
- Liaise with the client and government bodies on environmental and sustainability matters.
- Establish, monitor and report on key sustainability and environmental performance objectives and standards.

**What you’ll bring to the team**
- You will have relevant qualifications in Environmental Science or related discipline with a strong knowledge of environmental legislation and regulatory frameworks.
- You will have experience in a similar role within construction ideally with experience working on Water or related Infrastructure projects.
- You will have exceptional communication skills with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships at all levels.
- You will have the ability to negotiate, influence, and engage effectively with stakeholders to drive project success and ensure compliance with environmental standards and expectations.
