**About You**:
1.Tertiary Qualification in Urban Planning, Civil Engineering or equivalent.
2. Local government experience and extensive experience in development assessment.
3. Demonstrated experience in leading multidisciplinary teams of technical professionals.
4. Proven innovative and facilitative style of management that has developed and stimulated a high performing team.
5. Demonstrated strong and engaging leadership style that has translated to responsiveness in service delivery outcomes.
6. Demonstrated experience in financial management including budget preparation and management of adopted financial management plans and associated modelling. Demonstrated experience in forecasting projected annual revenue targets and operational expenditure.
7. Demonstrated experience in the preparation of operational and delivery plans in order to achieve Council’s commitments to the Community Strategic Plan in accordance with the Integrated Planning and Reporting framework
8. Demonstrated experience in building professional relationships within the development industry and the community and the ability to demonstrate professional acumen in all business dealings with internal and external customers
9. Knowledge of relevant legislation and statutory frameworks relating to Development Assessment, Civil Works Certification and Building Certification.
11. Demonstrated ability to be resilient to work pressures and demands and has analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to critically analyse issues and develop and implement appropriate solutions.
12. Demonstrated experience in the establishment of development systems to support innovation, responsiveness and ensure legislative compliance in all operational aspects of the portfolio.
13. Demonstrated well developed written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate with a range of stakeholders, both internal and external and to negotiate outcomes and resolve conflict.
15. Current NSW Class C drivers’ licence.

**Desirable criteria**
- Post graduate degree in business management and/or leadership.
- Land and Environment Court Experience including carriage of matters on behalf of Council for both prosecuting and defence of actions and also expert witness experience.
- Practical use and knowledge of Corporate Systems and Electronic Management Systems.
- Demonstrated contemporary best practice experience in Project Management and Contract Management
